Date Posted: 16:48:00 08/19/04 Thu In reply to: Kristen 's message, "being bold" on 18:43:31 08/16/04 Mon Believe me, Kristen. I am trying to be more bold. I've been so terribly shy when it comes to dating for so many years that I'm only now beginning to break out of my shell. But it is still not easy. And I think the venue is very important. If you're dancing at a nightclub and you approach a woman, 9 times out of ten, she knows she's being hit on. And alot of women don't seem to like it. So dance clubs are not a great place to ask women out on dates. I'm a member of a weekly club and there is a nice mix of women and men. I finally had the courage to ask a woman if she was "seeing anyone" and she replied that she was. That was the end of it. But it was very bold on my part to be able to ask her that and it was only after we had chatted before at a prior meeting. Dating should be fun but it takes work.
