Date Posted: 14:05:52 08/26/04 Thu In reply to: Carl 's message, "Fight discrimination with more discrimination?" on 10:05:52 08/24/04 Tue I'm not entitled to ask that gay people stay out of sight. But as I mentioned, there are many activities that cater just to the gay community. Is that not being discriminatory? It's also not promoting anything negative. There are vacation trips marketed towards the gay community and there are sexuality workshops that cater to the gay community. I think it's healthy. No one is surrendering to fear or suspicion. There's no need for gays and straights to have to participate in the same sexuality workshop. Why make anyone possibly uncomfortable? I've participated in other sensuality workshops where there was no gender balance at all. I didn't enjoy it. It makes me comfortable knowing that in a sensuality workshop I can interact with any woman knowing she's physically attracted to men. Why should a gay woman want to interact with a straight man? They can but if they had a choice why would they? Just for fun? Just for kicks? Just to explore their bisexuality? If I were to participate in another sensuality workshop at One Taste I would ask first if gay participants would be part of the workshop. It would factor in my decision making. Alison did not mention to me that there would be gay participants. As I mentioned, I don't consider myself homophobic. But I also heard and witnessed women who were not comfortable being in the same workshop with men. I'll digress with one more point. I found it somewhat bizarre that Nicole was talking about how much she loves cock in front of gay women. I mean, did that not come across as a bit weird to anyone else???? Or was that just me??? This is my interpretation. In the future, I recommend that the Institute mention beforehand that they do not discriminate between sexual orientations in their sensuality workshops.
