Date Posted: 17:23:32 08/26/04 Thu In reply to: Lord B 's message, "try this one for size..." on 14:05:52 08/26/04 Thu I failed to speak clearly. I'm not advocating that gay women do the "lab exercises" with men. I meant to say that I see no problem mixing straights and gays in a sensuality workshop as long as each participant is able to do the exercises with a partner he/she is comfortable with. In other words there should be an even number of gay women so each can have a gay woman partner, and the classes should be gender-balanced for straight men and women. I'm not opposed to events that cater strictly to gays - but if gays can stage events that don't admit straights, then straights should be able to stage events that don't admit gays - - and I see trouble coming down the track if we take that route. I just think that the world would be a better place if we worked on becoming comfortable being around the "other" instead of cloistering ourselves away from and nurturing our distaste for those different from us. It's interesting that there's no discussion of gay men participating in the exercises. I have to admit that it would make me uncomfortable but I wouldn't vote against it as long as I was not expected to "do" or "be done" by a man. Does that make me a hypocrite? I don't think so - - I've never claimed we should be recruiting people from one "team" to the other (as that wonderful Seinfeld episode put it) - - - I just want the two teams to be able to play peacefully side by side. As for the claim that "a finger is a finger" - you have to be at least slightly bisexual for that to be true. To generalize, a lot of "straight" women seem to be comfortable being sensual with women, whereas we "straight" men as a rule are very UNcomfortable being sensual with another man. So . . . are a high percentage of women just naturally bisexual, whereas the vast majority of "straight" men are sexually one-dimensional?
