Date Posted: 14:44:28 06/24/04 Thu Nicole conducted us perfectly. She delivered dramatic crescendos and soft legattos, playful trills and intense overtures. She led us in a symphony of words and emotions where we alternated as instruments, chorus, audience and guest conductors. She pointed her wand around the room and out came deep despair, anger, frustration, helplessness, withdrawal and desire. It was a brilliant, exhilerating and exhausting show. After, I lay in bed, replaying the movements from introduction to grand finale. Each held some deep truth about human experience and the ways in which we hide from the pureness of our true selves. Nicole peeled back the layers, showing us that we could turn what appeared complicated and out of tune into simple, unencumbered harmonies. She is teaching us how to love. I look around and realize that mostly we hide from love, shoving it deep down or piling so much on top that we perversely distort it. But it's everywhere. She's telling us that we need only feel - truly feel - and magic will happen. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
