That "something insane" in your head is no doubt the voice of your parents/minister/rabbi/favorite-Saturday-morning-cartoon that burrowed into your brain when you were too young to know it was happening and too young to resist. To get rid of that voice (with which I am very familiar), my guess is that we have to first identify where it came from (who/what/where/when/why/how was it created?) and then we have to go through an exorcism - - - NOT an easy task! But I believe it can be done. I have my own exorcism scheduled for early September.

Of course there is no inherent dichotomy between being a good, sweet, loving girl and being incredibly turned on, sexy and sensuous. In fact, the one can enhance the other (especially if you party while wearing a Catholic girl's high school uniform :>) :>) ) . . . But seriously, folks . . . that feeling of contradiction is the result of unconsciously absorbing a philosophy that looks on the material world - the world of the senses - as being the work of the devil. The ancient philosophy that exalts the spiritual/immaterial over the material rules our most popular religions. So, even though we live in perhaps the most materialist culture in history,the foundations of our culture (pilgrims & puritanism) say that materialism is evil. So we're wracked by internal contradictions.

That inernal warfare, I think, comes from the assumption that we are made up of two (warring) parts - our physical bodies (stinky and evil) and our spirit (immaterial, pure and holy). So to get rid of the insane voices in our heads (incipient schizophrenia) we have to eliminate that subconscious belief. We have to replace it with a belief that we are NOT made up of two warring parts. Each of us is, in fact, a unified whole (spelled with a "w"), and the whole is natural and good.

We have to stamp out the brainwashing that taught us that pleasure is bad, and replace it with a belief that hurting others is bad. We have to be honest with ourselves about whether or not we ARE hurting others (or ourselves), and then we have to act accordingly - - and accept the consequences of our actions (including mind-blowing pleasure).

And that's my statement of the obvious for today.
