Subject: A post of mine got me thinking

Back down under my "He's finally in jail" post, I responded to Liz's post about why would I want to go back to that hospital. I responded while I was in one of those moods where I want to take on the world, and make everyone accountable for their actions....I mentioned an attorney named Geoffrey Feiger. He is WELL known in Michigan, and was the attorney that handled the Jack Kevorkian case. (the suicide doctor for those not familiar). I thought to myself.......why not get Geoffrey Feiger? If I am gonna burn bridges with that hospital, why not do it up big? Get a high power lawyer to get me what I want, and probably a decent sum of money.

So I went to his website, took about an hour telling them what happened to me...etc. It was a long email explaining nearly everything. And I sent it......what the hell? The worst that could happen would be they won't take it.

Within an hour (I wasn't even done on the computer yet) I got a response.

The response said "Call the office as soon as possible", and they left their number. I couldn't believe it. I'm pretty sure I won't get Geoffrey Feiger himself, but one of his associates.....but it is the Feiger Firm.

I'm still gonna wait until the hospital report comes out this week. I want to give PHH a chance to do the right thing and admit liability. I don't think they will, but I have to at least give them a chance before I bring in the lawyers. Maybe they will do the right thing.

I will lose my doctor in doing this which saddens me to no end. I will terminate with him before he terminates me so it won't hurt so bad. He still may see me at his other office (that PHH doesn't own), but he said he'd have to check with his lawyer. I do have a doc that treated me at UM that I can go to, and go to if I need to be hospitalized, have ECT or TCS. So psychologically I am covered. I just really like my doctor now. That is the only thing that is hurting me about this.

So waiting for the report....anxiously, and can't believe a high powered law firm wants my case. I guess what happened to me was really wrong.
