I'm so sorry if I said anything to make you feel worse. I actually admire you for taking risks sometimes. I also think it is a great thing that you give people second chances. And you're right, they should also be given to you. We all make mistakes. His family knows that too. His hesitation about coming isn't about YOU. It's about his feelings about himself. He remembers those awful times too and how badly he behaved. Perhaps he doesn't feel strong enough in his newfound life and recovery. I don't know and it's really irrelevant. What matters is you. Anyone who knows you realizes what a special person you are. You are kind and forgiving and gracious. You have all my support and sinerest friendship.
