Subject: Stuff... some sad... some kinda beautiful...

I have a pen pal who lives in Florida. She has a urostomy. We met through a pen pal section of a small magazine that an ostomy supply manufacturer puts out. “Myrtice” is wheelchair bound. Myrtice had not written in months. I just received a letter. She has been too ill to write. Myrtice wrote that she was born with pressure on the brain and presently is experiencing sever headaches. How sad.

I gave my Internist Doc some info about my condition for the first time. He gave me some samples of a sleep med called “Rozerem”. It is a natural med. It is suppose to work only on the specific part of the brain that acts as a sleep / awake clock. I tried it but it was not the night cycle time of the brain function. I will try it again when night comes in an hour or so. I wonder what it feels like to get more than an hour or so of sleep at one time.

I took a Vicodin when I left my doc’s office. My head and neck ached so badly. When I got home, I ate a pint of ice crème and an oatmeal raspberry big cookie. I forgot I took the Vicodin after the doc visit and took another one along with two Flexeril muscle relaxers. Vicodin keeps me awake. That might be why the Rozerem did not keep me asleep after I had taken a hot bath.

“Amy” is the receptionist / clerk on the hospital unit that I get my infusion. Amy is down to earth, quite wise and quick to tell how it is. I get to infusion 15 minutes before they open. Amy always gets my breakfast bag for me. Amy’s friend is the broker who helped me get my home. This morning Amy offered to carry the bag, milk, orange juice etc down to my room with me as she will do occasionally when I have my IV pole with me. I aid, “Naw… I can get it, although I would enjoy your company so... shoot you can come home with me.” Amy smiled and said thanks… as in thanks for brightening up my morning some. Amy’s mom just past away. A little bit of joy went a long way for Amy. Somebody likes me enough for me to have such an affect. And, if she weren’t married she’d come home with me… jeez… that would scare the hell out of me… but I would not say no… jeez!
