Subject: Stuff... nice...

I have found this so neat bakery… “Vido’s Bakery” It is a real old fashion bakery. I could not find anything like this in or around my old city of Royal Oak: a “in” city just north of Detroit. I bought pies from them for the holidays…ummmmmy! They make these cookies that are like maybe, raspberry / oatmeal turnovers. Either, they are just something new to me or they are the greatest snack that I have ever had. I am in a good mood now. I am finishing off the second one of those big things with my coffee. I will eat my regular healthy meal in a little bit when this snack passes. I think that eating something tasty that I not supposed to have... somehow makes it even better- <img src="http://www.richarddw.net/faces/blu-smileyface.gif" align="absmiddle">

My son and I went to my family’s Christmas gathering last Saturday. My sister called me the day after and invited me to go to her husband father’s home for Christmas Day, tomorrow. My sister did not invite my son. My sister is aware of my son’s shortcomings. I was speed thinking and worrying that she was embarrassed to invite my son. So, as not to put my sister I the spot, I did not say anything. My son stood me up for breakfast this morning. That made me mad. He called later from a pay phone near his woman-friend’s place. He was apologetic and ask what I was doing tomorrow. I really did not want to tell him, but I did. I also said he could call his aunt to inquire to keep it is responsibility. He ran out of quarters, so I could not give him her phone number. I was ready to give up going with my sister in order to spend time with my son. The only Christmas or holidays he ever had was when occasionally he went over to a friends house… never with his family. He never known family events that are peaceful and friendly. Besides, even with his shortcomings, I want to spend time with him on Christmas as he wants with me. Again, besides I do not know anyone there except my bother-in-law’s dad. My son wants to get to know his family badly.

Anyway, being my son works to 10 p.m. tonight and doesn’t have his aunt’s phone number, I step upped and called my sister. She was all for it but reminded me that he will not know anyone there. I said that I just sit there mostly too. My sister said she been doing that for 35 years. I am so addicted to worrying… jeez!

Are you ready for this…? My son’s great grandmother’s brother (on his mother’s side) is my brother-in-law’s father. My son is related to his cousins from two lines of family tree… awesome hun. My sister’s husband’s father is my son’s great, great uncle. So my son wants to get to know his family.

Well that is it.

RICHARD
