At least we expect it here and know how to deal with it -- lots of air-conditioning and cold drinks and swimming pools and staying inside as much as possible.

I feel bad for the people who mow yards and do outdoor work. But someone told me you get used to it, your body acclimates, your blood thins.

I prefer the summer heat to the cold winters of my childhood. Ideally I like a middle ground. Someplace like Tennessee or NC or Virginia or WV.

And it isn't the heat that bothers me, or even the humidity, which I like because your skin, hair and nails don't get dried out. What I can't handle is being in the sun. I don't mind being outside, as long as I can stay in the shade, preferably immobile, lol.

Just another challenge to deal with. Plus I sleep more when it is hot out, the heat saps my energy, even if I am just out for a short time.
