Subject: Is pleasure the absence of pain?

I went to my nephew¡¯s wedding last evening. It was held outdoors at the Detroit Yacht Club on Belle Isle. Belle Isle is an island on the Detroit River. The club is very upper class. It is where I keep my yacht docked- . Very large wedding the chair had full white slip covers. They had a woman minister do the ceremony¡ªlike so neat. My nephew has not made me part of his life. Then again, I was not available much in his earlier years. The club has a dress code. They have a small plaque in from of the entrance that says proper attire required, casual dress entrance ¡ú. I think it has been 20 years since I have worn a sport coat and tie. The next that I have to, I hope, is when they lay me out in the end.

I woke up with a very sore neck/upper shoulder. This just compounds the chronic pain already there. I so thank my God for Vicodin. I took two, which is a seldom thing. I am in a good mood now too. I will take my good moods anyway I can. Well, just as long it is damaging to me, that is. I do wonder if the good mood is just a chemical thing or whether it is a absence of pain thing, ya know.

Well that is it,
