Subject: Things are going ok for once

Having our friend Lyndsey staying with us has been wonderful. She is a great girl, and she and Sarah are getting on very well. It is fun to watch her see something that they don't have in Australia. She is amazed by it. She has been here nearly a month now, and that time is going by really fast. I am really going to miss her when she goes home at the end of the summer.

I got some management responsibilities at work. I am what they call the 'outreach coordinator". I chose to not take that title and the pay increase, for I didn't want to lose my tech job, and when you are in management, your head is on the chopping block whenever the upper management feels like it. The lab needs techs, and I know that job is more secure than management. So I am going to do the outreach stuff on my days off, or when I can fit it in my workload. The hospital is sending me to management classes to learn the ins and outs of running a hospital lab. So far they have been good. I took a finance class, and was completely lost. I give credit to the finance people.....they have a really tough job.

Jim, my soon to be new therapist had me write a goodbye letter to my former therapist. I don't say goodbye to anyone.....it is too final for me. I haven't even said goodbye to my dead grandmothers, for I know that I will see them again. So goodbye isn't in my vocabulary.

But I wrote the letter.....Jim wants to see it when I see him next month. He told me that I have to put this to rest, or it was going to send me into an episode. I trust him just like I trusted my former therapist. I'm hoping that he can help me get past this. I wrote a long letter to the former therapist, explaining where I was coming from, and brought up some issues that were still nagging at me. At the end of the letter, I said goodbye. Quite a feat for me, cause I don't believe in goodbye. I don't expect a response from him, since he told me after June 12, we were terminated. But at least I got the final say..told him how much he hurt me, why we didn't get into any of the transference issues I had towards him, and how disappointed I was that he couldn't see past my illness and help me. I felt better after writing it......I am stronger than I think...thanks Sandy......I just have to learn to believe it.

Other than that..it's day by day here. Doing ok....have my depression days though. But I am going to be alright eventually.

Thanks for listening, and being such good friends to me.

Oh, one more thing. I got to meet the new middle manager at the hospital yesterday. His name is Clarence, and he is my boss's boss. He walked into the lab in a very expensive suit....He asked me where my name badge was, and I had it on me underneath my cover coat that we have to wear. I introduced myself, and told him that I look forward to working with him on the Outreach project. He told me that it was a pleasure to meet me, and yes, the outreach project was of top priority.

The kicker is.......he is black, and looks just like Damon Wayans. The man was hot.......caught my attention immediately. I hope he is as nice as he seems. It will be fun working with him. Eye candy too.....LOL

Love,Mikki
