god, what a horrible time you're having. But one thing is clear--this Gary does not need to be around you or calling you with his negative energy. I don't know what train of dramatic energy he's riding on, but you don't need to be dragged aboard. If you have to, change your phone number and tell him he is NOT allowed to come around you at work.
Do what you have to do to get him out of your life if he doesn't straighten up.
And as a loving pet owner, my heart breaks for what you're going through for Toupe', I hope he gets better soon.
One thing, though, I know he can't "tell you", but I do believe he knows you love him and are there for him. I'll just be glad when he can get home and stay home!
