This patch doesn't require diet restrictions and is good for people who don't respond to SSRI and similar meds. I just don't want to wear a patch and have to explain it to my boyfriend, kids, etc.

Lamictal did nothing for me. Zoloft was toxic. Cymbalta is supposed to be like Effexore, which gave me sweats and vivid nightmares.

Haven't been on Lithium. Pdoc offered, but the liver issues scared me. Also, never have been on Depakote or the other anticonvulsants, except for Neurontin briefly combined with Paxil (did nothing).

Seroquel did nothing (I don't have trouble sleeping at this time like I did in the past).

Trazadone (Desyrel) made me shaky and nauseated and sleepy.

Tried Wellbutrin once and it made me feel unwell, but it is clear that our body chemistry changes over time. I was on a very high dose of Remeron 5 years ago, couldn't tolerate a low dose this time, go figure.

So I may start at the top and as you said, I have pretty much run the gamet of what is out there. Who knows, maybe Wellbutrin would work this time.

For now I am just taking my Ativan and large doses of Omega 3 oil and Folic Acid at my Pdoc's recommendation. Noticed the Omega 3 came up just now when I googled mood stabilizers:

I'm doing OK, not great, but stable for now, so I will see how the next few weeks go and decide about the Wellbutrin. I'll probably give it a shot.

Keep those ideas and suggestions coming.

Hope you find a good new shrink. I've been with mine for more than 5 years now and sometimes I think a change would be good but I like her and she helps me at least 1/3 of the time and she serves good coffee.

Liz
