Sounds like you are at a turning point for many things in your life. I'm glad you have closure with the old shrink, now you can let it go and move on. I always feel closure is somewhat mythical or cyclical. We put a think in it's place and when we least expect it, it resurfaces to haunt us.

I hope you are able to find something more than your relationship with Mike offers in terms of partnership and intimacy. Of course, being me, I believe you have to end one thing before you start another thing. The perfect relationship may not exist but you deserve more than what you are getting from your marriage. You are also young enough to seek it. I had just turned 44 when I told my ex we needed to separate. I have no regrets, even if the path forward has been overgrown and strewn with thorns at times.

Hugs,

Liz
