Subject: Cross Country Road Trip

My brother's health continues on a downward trend with small streaks of stability. 15 months ago he had the triple bypass. Since then he's had several staph infections, pnemonia, pain. Recently he had an operation where they had to reopen him and re-set his sternum because it hadn't healed right. The scraped out infection, moved bone, muscle and skin in an effort to patch him up. Then just days ago he came down with what they intially thought might be congestive heart failure. Thank god it's *just* pnemonia and bronchitis. The poor kid just celebrated his 43 birthday last month. Well anyway, he has to move for his job next week. From NJ to Phoenix. He's in no shape to make this drive alone. So I volunteered to fly out there and drive him then fly back home. So I'm looking at driving 38 hours over 3.5 days in the summer heat. Unfortunately, looking at the map, we don't even cross any place interesting (like where any of you live). Oh well, it will feel good to help him though I will lose all my vacation time and any thoughts I had of taking a trip in Nov are shot. No biggie.

Oh and the good news. My mom is getting married on Saturday. Thank God my brother looks like he may recover from this again or it would seriously detract from her happiness. Just an update. Hugs.
