Rhe only thing Fox Mulder did wrong was to send the Souths player to the sin-bin instead of sending him off immediately. I think the 7 week ban he subsequently received indicated he should have been marched.

As for the second incident, Anasta went in with a swinging arm and tried to send the Souths player's head into orbit, and then carried on when the Souths player retaliated. Considering Anasta had been warned earlier not to get involved in incidents once the ref had ordered him away, it was reasonable to sin-bin Anasta.

But, of course, in these days of nothing being the fault of the player, it is much easier - and apparently totally acceptable - to blame the ref for stuff-up by a player.
