Another example wheer the powers-that-be have twisted and stretched the Laws more than an Indian Yogi, to accommodate Coaches and profeessional players who can't follow the Laws. What was introduced was this concept of being able to "win the tackle" and hence earn the right to "work a player" on the ground. This deviated from the intention of the Laws, that is, to effect a tackle as quickly as possible and to then immediately release the tackled player.

And so now, from this stretching of the Laws, we will find that they now need to be stretched in another direction to compensate for the first stretching, and the poor old Lawbook will resemble a constipated contortionist.

Enough! Keep the coaches out of the Law interpretations, and demand that highly paid professional Rugby League players take some responsibility for their own discipline on the field, rather that stretching the Laws and diluting them to yield to the wanless Coaches.

Yes, we might have higher penalty counts for a while, but the end result wil be much more consistent and pleasing.

But who has the guts to implement a return to the Lws of the Game as written??
