I think he did a pretty good job considering - heres what I thought of the three incidents I can think of that people are mainly talking about.

1>Billy Slater strip - Given from where Simpkins was viewing, and how quick a game of footy is, I would have most likely blown a penalty in that case - it's alot easier for us to critisize with replays.

2>Berrigan obstruction - Missed that one, but from what I can gather, it's why I believe they should get rid of the video referee. It creates this illusion in the referees' head (through no fault of their own), that they can make mistakes or let things slide and check them later.

3>Matt King "no try" - Gotta say from what I could see there was nothing wrong with it. I don't want to start an argument with it though.

Given all that who knows what might of happened should a few calls had gone Melbourne's way but its finished now.

Simpkins had a great year and it has NOT been spoiled by the grand final. He didn't "choke" he was just a little bit nervous and hasn't had experience yet to deal with it - he will learn from it.

And also I believe the Broncos outplayed Melbourne in nearly every aspect of the game and were deserving premiers. (I am a Bulldogs supporter!)
