Subject: My take on Takabite...Where Is There Love Maggie ?

First time I saw them was at Oakfest & was impressed enough to buy their Beans And Rice cassette. I'm 48 years old & know music quite well. I buy, sell & trade rare l.p.'s & have several valued at $1,000+. I also have about 500 tapes & a hundred c.d's. I don't knwo much in life but I know how to install carpet & I know music. I DO NOT as a rule follow lounge bands. However, Takabite is a step above. They always have been & still are. The musicianship is quite excellent but I have to say that Maggie is a real pro. One of the finest female vocalists I've ever heard. I can't imagine why her career hasn't taken her to the top.I was a bit put off the last time I saw them because Maggie wou;dn't step up front & sing Where There Is Love but it was explained that it had very special meaning to her & got the impression it might have been painful. I was drunk & ignorantly offered her a $50 bill to sing it but she just smiled & said she had forgotten the lyrics. Bought her a bunch of double shots but that didn't help either. I respect her for standing by her decision & understand pain & lack of wanting to put oneself unnecessarily through it. I was hoping to get a friend of mine to try out for the keyboards position but he declined. Damn ! He's toure the U.K. & played with some great bands. His specialty is progressive music though. AND day jobs! This is a general info page not a cry and whine sight. You want pictures... take your own! Appreciate what they do offer and the good tunes they play. Personally i'm surprised they still have this sight. Anymore it's become a dumping page for the insecure, unappreciative and unnoticed! Get over yourselves and just enjoy the band. Quit trying to suck em dry. They play for the extra income, not to cater to the bored and obsessed. It's just a band baby, don't take things so personal. If you wanna make a better page, go for it!
