Rules. HA! following rules would get you killed were she came from. They were street kids, contradictions, rebels, it would by hypocritical to follow rules. And as for her attempt at stealing to food, she had always stolen to survive. Fuck etiquette, you don't think of propriety when your starving. He stomach rumbled gently in response to her thoughts, and she winced inwardly at this sign of weakness. But suddenly her hunger didn't matter anymore as she found herself confronted by yet another, surrounding her. Her gaze snapped to the other even as she faught against an instinctive step backward. The new boy was taller then her, and looked fit; a worthy apponent alone. But with the others, ecpesially with the girl's anger, she would be dead in seconds.
'Hunger, mostly...' she answered wearily, her voice low and unsure.
It was true, she hadn't come from a big city with the murder rate higher then the population, but she was a street kid at heart and had proved her worth countless times over the past five years. She came from a different world then these kids, this was obvious to her. But she was unsure if they would kill her for it.
