I's an interesting topic. Through years of looking at it and the wider animal kingdom, it seems that homosexuality is another example of natural diversity. Usually it's called unnatural because you can't reproduce that way but what are we to then think of monks, priests, swamis, or my wife and I who've made a decision not to have kids? I've heard this 14 incarnation explanation (ie: srf) on some other website but haven't found much of anything in terms of Yogananda's own words. He said ultimately we're neither male or female but souls identifying with a particlular sex, race, religion, etc. The other esoteric explanation I've heard for this is Edgar Cayce who said that some souls carry over tendencies from a previous incarnation when they were of a different sex and still feel an attraction to members of that particular sex in the current body form (same sex).
