Bro. Anandamoy often tells this story. He was one day meditating in the garage of Master's retreat in 29 Palms. He was strugling with his own thoughts when he heard the sound of the door opening. He thought, "Oh, Master is coming in." At once his consciousness was lift to a lofty plane. After a time, he opened his eyes to see not Master, but a neighborhood dog! He uses this story to say that evidently it was not the dog's presence that lift his consciousness, nor Master's physical presence -- but his own THOUGHT of Master's being with him.
