But Yogananda admits his mistakes continuously throughout his writing.If he was an avatara,why the intense period of heartbreaking search?The very concept of avatara is one firmly rooted in a very orthodox Hindu framework.Avatara means 'descent' of DIVINITY into flesh,incarnation of the Supreme Being.Unfortunately,it is a custom among followers of various gurus to raise their teacher to avatara status. Ramakrishna,Sai Baba,Sivananda of Rishikesh,Meher Baba,Swami Narayan,etc etc.It is ridiculous.Now they're directing their fantasies at poor old Yogananda.It is patently obvious that these claims are the result of gross spiritual delusion.Yogananda NEVER claimed to be God at ANY time,which is basically what an avatara is.
