The voice returned with a rustle of sound and a breath of air. The darkness remained undisturbed, no light penetrated to relieve it's cold embrace.

"Wondering where you are no doubt, and wondering as well I would guess, at what part you'll play in this little drama of life's creation. I'll tell you part, so that you might think on what it could portend. Your life is worth little, though others might disagree, your gift of sight more valuable than you could comprehend, a gift you squander foolishly. That's why it's been blocked you see, to give you but a taste of it's absence. You'll use your gift at our decree, of your choice or even unwillingly. Your friends cannot reach you here, for where is here but there beyond their grasp? Even your goddess cannot touch you in this place, though all who share your gift and see your plight. Now I'll leave you to your own thoughts, frantic and useless though they might be."

Fabric rustled again, followed by that breath of cooler air, and silence decended in the voice's absence.
