The item she held out was a small globe, clear as water and perfectly smooth. It looked like glass, was about as heavy as crystal and yet it was neither of these substances but something that was produced by demon hands.

"Tell her it is the key to herself and that she will know when to use it. I think she will understand what it's meant for. Go now Seer, before these tunnels collapse into rubble."

The demoness turned and faded from sight, a thin tendril of mist marking her passage in the other direction. The girl that had brought her the tray of food returned and motioned her to follow. Her voice when she spoke was still as soft as it had been that other time, but now there was a note of fear lacing her voice.

"The Comynara said I was to take you to the Holy place and that I was to stay there with you. Is there something wrong? Have I offended her that she would send me away? I don't want to leave here, it's the only home I know, and the lady was kind to me. Please tell me what I've done wrong?"

The girl looked at Ariel beseechingly, she did not know of the events that had and still were, transpiring outside, she only knew she was being sent away from the only home she knew.
