A pond, unhindered by outside troubles and fed by nothing more than rain water's gentle drip, will become stagnant. All life within is drawn to a point of decay, if not immedietly, then after a relatively short period of time. It takes a decade for running water to tear away at a cliffside, but only weeks for stagnant water to poison all life.

Chaos smiled, laying the small girl in a stranger's arms and watching the kindly smile that lit the old woman's face. A favor for one and a blessing for the other... She hoped they would find peace. Almost idly, she flicked a small peice of ash from her green top, feeling the leather strands dangle against her slender waist. Not all deserved such peace.
