Something was out there watching her, though at present she wasn't doing anything truly worth watching. The presence wasn't threatening, at least it didn't seem that way. Humming softly like she had done to soothe Valenthe's fear, she invoked her gift, this time picturing a wide open plain with lots of sunlight streaming down from above. The gift couldn't actually make such a thing come to be, but it could grant the illusion of it. With her eyes closed she could almost feel the bright light against her skin, and smell the sunwarmed grass that rippled in the gentle breeze. She thought she heard a hissing sound, and attributed it to the rain that was pouring down, sliding against the canopy of leaves and shelter. Leaning back against the packs she had set next to one of the trees she hummed and waited, there was no telling what tomorrow might bring.
