And we wonder why there is no student following! Have the students who go to this school become so high and mighty that they would rather follow the big conference schools than their own basketball team? This is a sad commentary, and unfortunately one that I think is pervasive within the student body.

I actually feel sorry for you that you never experienced anything like the red sea. It was an event - win or lose -to be part of the games. Unfortunately, the reason that it no longer exists is the attitude you so aptly exhibit in your post. It's that same attitude that ended up getting rid of the football team as well. You would have been better off going to UCONN.

Sad to hear that the "recent alumnus" has so little interest in Fairfield b-ball. He truly missed out on a great experience as a lot of us have had at AH and even some exciting games(both men and women) at AHY. Granted the "Home team" atmosphere is not the same at AHY but for us alumni fans it is all about the Stags.

One of the priorities of any athletic/marketing plan has to be a way of reconnecting with the current student body so as not to have such attitudes as the "recent alumnus". The current students will be alumni one day and the University needs to stay connected to them somehow.
