In reply to: Holly 's message, "I just don't think you can call a picture or a director the "best"" on 07:29:52 03/02/04 Tue

All I can say is I have gained a lot of respect for J.R.R Tolkein and I thank Peter Jackson for that. I never would have made it passed the Elvish language in his books. It's like reading Shakespeare and don't get me started on that. I loved the movies and I'm glad it won best picture and director, but the fact that they won all 11 made the Oscars so boring. It was like the year of the English Patient, I wanted to kill myself.

I think what the critics said was true they waited for the last one and gave the people their due, but if they liked the work in the other movies then they should have won then. (Am I making any sense?)I also think that the LOTR crew who had won before did not need to win again, unless it really was the best. I thought the costumes in Pirates and Master and Commander were just as good and artistic, as well as some of the other technical things. However, I was upset that the actors were left out. I loved Ian Meckellen(sp), Sean Astin, and my boy Viggo should have been up for the Two Towers!JMO

Alright I think I'm done rambling now...who were your choices for Oscar this year!

P.S. Okay I lied almost done rambling... Although Sean Penn looked like he did a hell of a job, I did feel bad for Bill Murray, meanwhile I heard Bill Murray say that if he didn't win he wanted Johnny Depp to win! I thought that was interesting.
