Subject: Wholly Complete

"The victim should belong both to the inside and the outside of the community. As there is no category that perfectly meets this requirement, any creature chosen for sacrifice must fall short in one or another of the contradictory qualities required of it" (Violence and Sacred 272). This immediately brought to mind the humanity and divinity of Jesus. I think that Jesus might be the only figure in any religion that is both completely divine and completely human AT THE SAME TIME. There are moments in mythology where a god might humanize himself, but never is he completely both all at once. This 100% human and 100% God would then put a dent in Girard's point.
