No texto The teacher�s role in developing students� learning strategies, p.129, o autor menciona o papel do professor no sentido de remover dos estudantes que desejam ser aut�nomos, as falsas cren�as e concep��es, mostrando o processo natural na aquisi��o de uma segunda l�ngua. Nesse sentido, podemos observar a preocupa��o bastante relevante dos estudiosos no tocante � expectativa criada em torno do assunto. Os resultados do projeto desenvolvido e citado no texto de Nae-Dong Yang comprovam isso, pois conforme relatado, os alunos criam expectativas e ansiedades que precisam ser administradas sob a orienta��o dos professores, cujos resultados ser�o decisivos no processo.
Ensinar a ser aut�nomo significa muito mais que mostrar m�todos e estrat�gias, pois cren�as irreais e as ambi��es criadas inicialmente em dire��o aos objetivos, poder�o ser uma desmotiva��o quando n�o s�o devidamente orientadas e dirigidas.
