There's no reason why children should be shielded from homosexuality any more than they should be shielded by heterosexuality. I assume the book doesn't deal with actually describing any sex of either variety, so I don't get the big fuss.

If anything, kids should be taught that homosexuality is perfectly natural, so they'll stop persecuting the gay kids in their schools who end up killing themselves.
