The other thing you might try is the System Restore feature in Windows, which should be in the System Tools folder inside your Accessories folder. If you've had it enabled, you may be able to roll back your system environment to a time period when you weren't having this issue. Doing that only affects programs you've installed, and has no effect on any documents you've created or saved since then. Unfortunately, many spyware applications are devious enough to corrupt those previously saved System Restore states to the point where you can't roll back your system.
