It's termed black friday because retailers are usually in the red (meaning they haven't made a profit for the year), and sales are enough the day after thanksgiving to put them back in the black.

I usually enjoy Black Friday because I like shopping early in the morning, but I was completely exhausted after this entire week, and after playing with the Wii my husband got me (He stood in line on Thanksgiving morning while my SIL and I cooked). Wii boxing kicked my ass!
