Your cynicism is not without reason, given the state of politics/politicians today. Therefore, one should not equate the lazy/ignorant nonvoter with the completely disaffected nonvoter. In my way of thinking, it has never been more clear than it is now that we do not choose, and that way of thinking is backed up by a hundred different reasons, many relying on recent history.

I read a lot of DC publications -- liberal and conservative, mainstream and alternative, sane and whacko. They're almost all saying the same thing now -- on The Hill, it's being treated as a given that Hillary Clinton will be the next president. I don't believe that this is what a majority of people want, but I do believe that it's what will happen.

In any event, I'm fairly certain that the mothership will arrive before next election day. ;-)
