It cracked me up because my niece is like this. (I had to send it to my sister, her mom.) My niece is seventeen, was diagnosed with ADHD at an early age, and has been on Ritalin since she was about seven. She is weird, obnoxious, and hard to be around, but she has an uncanny knack for knowing when someone is about to die or be injured, and still seems unaware that this is unusual. It totally freaks out my very ordinary schoolteacher sister. My favorite story about her (and there are many) was when she sat down with her family to watch the Preakness pre-show. When they showed Barbaro, she said "Mom, they can't run that horse. There's something wrong with his foot." and my sister said "Oh, Katie, you can't know that." And we all know what happened to Barbaro in that race. Totally freaked them out. My sis is getting used to it now, but when they came to visit last year, she took me aside and whispered "If she had told me not to get on the plane, I wouldn't have got on the plane." lol
