>Strategy is a plan designed for a specific purpose.
>In Ancient Greece strategies meant the art of war and
>the tatics the tool for success. Everytime we have to
>carry out a plan most of us think about the best way
>to perform it . It’s through this process of
>planning and thinking that we come to the strategies

>be aware and how to put them into practice.

>Languages classrooms, the learning strategies came as
>new perspective to learning. So, strategies are

>Staregies are the ones classified by Rebecca Oxford,
>which I have already tested with my own students

>The types of strategies are: Memory Strategy,

>Metacognitive Strategies, Affective Strategies and
>Social Strategies.

>Memory Strategy is the one in which the student tries
>to recall what he has learned in a more efficient way.
>For this to happen he has to establish links with
>what is stored on his mind and what he is learning.
>It is necessary that the student makes a great effort
>to use his memory as much as possible. A good strategy
>may be to do this as soon as he leaves the classroom,
>on the way home.
>
>Cognitive Strategy – It is how to make use of all
>mental process. The student can do this by reciting
>and writing words of the target language; speaking to
>native speakers, practicing the sound of the language;
>using the same word in a different way; getting in
>touch with authentic materials; receiving and sending
>messages. This strategy develops the writing.
>
>Compensation Strategy – It is how the student
>compensate his lack of knowledge. This has to do with
>listening comprehension mostly, where the student can
>guess intelligently what’s been said. Also, it is
>important to avoid using the dictionary and trying
>to understand the whole content.
>
>Metacognitive Strategy – It is how the student
>organizes and evaluates his learning. He can do this
>by scheduling the necessary time he needs to study the
>target language; paying attention to his mistakes in
>order to improve; trying to find a better way of being
>a good learner. This can be applied to Reading.
>
>Affective Strategy – It is how the student low his
>anxiety. This is possible by encouraging himself,
>testing his emotional temperature talking to other
>people. This stratery fits on Speaking.
>
>Social Strategy – Very alike to the latter, and it is
>related to how the student interacts with another
>student. For example he tries to learn with his
>partner and also cooperates with others. Another good
>example of Social Strategy is to develop cultural
>understanding , but the best of them is to try keep
>calm and communicate.

>As classified above, these Learning Strategies covers
>the four habilities, which are Listening, Reading,
>Writing and Speaking, if the student is oriented by
>teacher of how to use the Strategies , and more
>importantly be aware of them, he will not only be able
>to learn the language but also know how to use it.
WHAT A WELL WRITTEN TEXT! WHAT A GREAT VOCABULARY YOU HAVE!
NOW LET´S SEE IF I CAN HELP YOU WITH SOMETHINGS. I BELIEVE THAT IN YOUR THESIS STATEMENT YOU ARE DEFENDING MORE THAN ONE IDEA/TOPIC.
RIGHT NOW IT IS TOO BROAD. HOW ABOUT “THE IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING STRATEGIES WHEN ACQUIRING A FOREING LANGUAGE”? IT IS JUST A SUGGESTION.
ANOTHER THING IS THE TURNABOUT TECHINIQUE. IT SEEMS THAT YOU DIDN´T APPLIED TO THE INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH. WHEN USING THIS METHOD YOU MUST INTRODUCE AN OPPOSITE IDEA TO YOUR THESIS STATEMENT SO, IT WILL GIVE EVEN MORE EMPHASIS TO IT.
