(He yawned, making a sound that was something akin to a painful groan, and lifted his wing for his mate to settle in beside him.) Aye, I realize now that I miss being here. (He watched her as she settled beside him, a lazy prideful smile on his features. Once she was settled he lowered his massive wings back down, so that she was partially hidding behind one of them. His tail was moving back and forth behind him like some great sated cat, and when it touched hers he unconsciously wrapped the end around hers in an affectionate grip. He looked about their clearing and surveyed the fire he had created before looking once again at his mate with her head beside his clawed foot. He realized with a bit of a shock just how immense he was.. his claw could envelope her head. It made him realize how easily she could come to harm, and just how necessary it was that she have his protection. He was growling low under his breath as he thought about someone harming her, not realizing he was doing it because he was tired and not as sharp as he usually was. The kids just took it out of him. He had actually fallen asleep while working on the books just a couple days previous and valet had scared ten years off his life when he came in. Dane was just glad that he had not killed him since his hand has gone straight to his dirk. It seemed her thoughts were the same as his and he groaned lightly at the thought that they would not have time together for some time to come.) I started working wi' them to learn how to take their human form. They are old enough to make the change, they just need to ken how. I think the wee lass might almost have the jist of it.. she takes after ye wi' the learning. (He said, sounding oddly conversational. He wasn't usually the most talkative dragon, perhaps he was becoming more comfortable with being a proper mate, and not just with his mated duties.) It may be time we look for a keeper for the brood.. it willnae do us good protecting them if we are unable to remain awake, aye?
