(There was a fleeting moment, as Durgan's body tensed and finally exploded above her own, that she thought she might just black out from the sheer pleasure of it all. But it seemed that holding onto her mate and focusing on the thunderous rush of his heartbeat kept her grounded. As the sound of his voice filled the air around them, she became suddenly aware of him in a way that she had never been before.. was this what it was to be mated? She felt as though her body had suddeny become alive with awareness of him, as though she could feel his pleasure mix and flare with her own. Curling her legs firmly around his waist, she cradled his body as he lowered himself down above her, wanting nothing more than to hold him as their bodies recuperated. Breathing heavily through her nose, she let her eyes drift shut, her heart racing and her body covered with a sheen of sweat. Never before had she given herself like this.. and she suspected it would always be like this between them, something more powerful than life. Her eyes opened and her breath rushed out as he pulled out of her several minutes later, and as though she were scared he might leave, she reached out for him. Realizing that he had merely gone for a blanket, she cuddled up against him and prepared to rest for quite a long time. It was his statement that her opening her eyes and looking up at him, one slender brow arched in exasperation.) I better be stuck with you. (She murmured to him, lightly nipping his neck in a chastising manner. She was going to nip this self-doubting flower in the bud.. no mate of hers would doubt himself, not when it came to her. In her mind, he had taken over every male role in her life, and more than anything he was her protector and friend.. the rest of the world could be damned so long as she had him. She drew him down and pressed her lips firmly to his, her free hand sliding through his hair to fist lightly.) I love you, Durgan. (Her voice was soft in his mind as she kissed him, wanting him to know just how much she did love him.)
