He shrugged a little, feeling badly for his brother and his situation. I donnae ken, lad. I ken that Evie she likes when I speak about... He paused a moment, feeling a little foolish speaking to his tough big brother about things like this. ...about tender things. She is happy here because she feels like she...like she belongs and has a family now. With those words, he finally understood how distant Bree must feel and how much that would be amplified if Evie withdrew from her also. I think also she kens, because we waited so long to officially become mates, she kens that tis more to us then just the bedding. Shrugging a little, he watched his brother for a moment before he cleared his throat again. Ye and Bree, ye have v'ry different personalities then Evie and I. Yer both very strong willed and I donnae think that either one of ye kens the meaning of the word compromise. I've watched ye two, ye ken, and it seems whenever one of ye gives to the other, the other pulls back. His head cocked to the side, his hair falling in front of his eyes and he had to push back the locks out of his face. Ye said that the lass more or less said she loved ye...that's a big step, I ne'er thought I would hear of her sayin' that. She hadn't directly said the words to him but in a round about way she had. How did ye respond to it then, when she told ye that? If he knew his brother, which he was fairly certain he did, Dane didn't handle it in a manner that would have pleased his young wife. Donnae forget either, Bree is younger than Evie. Evie is still young, of course, but she is older physically and mentally then yer lass.
