(It wasn't really in his nature to accept lecturing, though it was in his nature to seek the answers to his questions. It was an odd sort of nature he had.. but then he wasn't a normal sort of creature. He lifted his head just enough to slant his brother a skeptical look, his smirk hidden by his arm. It was hard for him to believe that two creatures who possessed such a strong physical attraction shouldn't give in to their needs.. it wasn't like he bedded her and kicked her out. He had given her a home and made her his mate.. why did he have to be tender, as well? He groaned, rolling his eyes a little as his brother continued on. Women were silly creatures.. wanting so much emotional fodder. And yet, he found it oddly erotic when she got so pissed at him that her eyes flared bright and her skin flushed with color. Aye, she was a beautiful and strongwilled female, his mate.. quick to temper and quick to passion. But she had responded quite favorably to a soft hand as well, as he had discovered earlier in bed. Any other dragon female would have asserted herself over his home and even over himself.. but Bree didn't know how female dragons behaved. She was different. And Dane, well, he wasn't brought up to be tender. Durgan's question made him shrug and look down at his feet like a rather large child.) I dinno.. I.. I said she looked a wee bit tired and mayhap some sleep would help. (He looked over at his brother in hopes that he had done well, but knew from the male's expression that he had failed yet again. He sighed, his jaw ticking a little.) Look, Da didna teach me how to handle females, Durgan.. he taught me to protect Lallybroch and fight our enemies.. and I failed at that even. (He snorted, and a little puff of smoke curled out from his nostril, a sure sign that he was agitated.)
