(He was pacing by the time she came into the room and stopped when he saw her, looking down as though the whelps would be following her. He had all his weight on his left foot and looked more than a little tired as he stood there, looking at her like she could possibly be his salvation. As her hands touched him he let his eyes wander over her and moved with her as she went to get a rag and water to tend his wounds.) Nay, the lass.. Anya. She turned into a wee devil. (He sat down on the bed and looked over at Durgan, brow still furrowed deeply as he tried to figure this all out.) That was Kaden out there.. (He said to Bree as she returned to him.) He's turned black.. I dinnae ken how, but he has. (He shook his head, red locks falling over his face so that he had to reach up and push them back. He had cut his hair short before the whelps had been laid, but since then allowed it to grow unruly again. He watched her with an expression that was alien to him, one of pure need. He just needed to be comforted in that moment of pain.) I should nae have allowed it to go this far.. I didnae ken he felt so alone. (She couldnt have said how relieved she was when he turned and opened his arms to her, that she still had some sort of position when he was so upset. She moved into those arms and put her own around his neck, burying her face in the strength of his collar. His words reverberated in his chest so that she felt as well as heard them, and she felt like weeping for the pain she knew both males were experiencing. She could hardly stand up for Dane, not when she was so angry with him for hurting Kaden.. but she had to admit that she was at least pleased he was open to the situation. That was more than she had seen from him before. If Kaden was to go after the black dragon Lairdship, he would need strong allies.. and what stronger ally than a powerful brother? Still, the wounds were too raw yet. She let him get it out, her hand moving up his neck to sift into his hair, her lips meeting his collar.) Sssh.. (She said softly to him, just holding him and being held for a while, letting silence start to eat at the situation until she could finally lift her head and look at him with a soft expression. Her hand came down to his cheek and she smiled lightly.) Tis true, ye can fight yer own battles.. (She murmured to him, her way of apologizing for her methods, not for the fact that she had attacked his brother.) But perhaps, with time, yer brother can fight wi' ye? (She cocked her head alittle, smoothing her hand down to rest over his heart. She looked older than her years then, as she half held and half coaxed him.) Twas easy to see that yer brother feels bad for what has become of yer relationship.. and Durgan as well.. mayhap tis nay a lost cause. Ye can mend bridges wi'out moving back, ye ken.
