Nicole, I LOVE Indian food, so I know what it's like--I eat it probably an average of once every week or two. Some of it is actually very healthy (especially the vegetarian things). If you're not suffering from the throes of ana (organs shutting down, etc), then there is nothing to fear, it's just hard for your body to adjust from very little to a whole lot of food. That would be true whether it's Indian or not. When I go, I hardly ever eat more than half of my meal; I love to take the other half for lunch the next day. And I try to go easy on the white rice.
