Shani--i had pharyngitis a few years ago, it really sucks. i had the little cuts all over my throat that were bleeding, so i know how painful it is!! i had a lot of plain chicken broth (although chocolates soup sounds much better) , and you can make nonfat milkshakes with frozen yogurt....also regular yogurt would be good too, if it's not too thick. lot's of tea, too!! herbal tea helps for the healing process: just make sure whatever liquids you have arent too hot, because it could irritate the cuts (if you have them, some people dont get cuts).
Also, over the counter IB profin (spelling?) helped me a lot, but you're dr proably already prescribed something...just a tip, maybe you could ask about because it helped a lot for me (anything to knock you out to take the pain away! lol)

i hope you feel better soon-- get plenty of rest!!!

<3 jane
