Kara that's incredibly brave of you not only for following through with keeping the appointment you made but coming on here and telling us about your experience. You're not weak at all...you're a helluva lot stronger than you imagine. I can see it and I know the others do, too. That's part of the reason going to a professional is so good - they can see things in you that you cannot. They are an objective third party and from my personal experience even ones I wasn't too fond of, always made more positive reinforcing comments back to me about myself that made it worthwhile. Keep going back as long as you need to. I was in and out of counseling with therapists, psychiatrists and psychologists (including my hospitalization 3 yrs ago) for a grand total of 17 years and I can safely say I am not a failure or weak. I'm smart enough to know and humble enough to admit when I need help and ask for it. So are you! So very proud of you and you should be proud of yourself! :o)
