hey everyone...
well as most of you know i'm in a partial hospitalization program for depression/anxiety (also thought to have depersonalization disorder) the only thing is, i'm at the point where my depression and such is taking over, to the point where i now KNOW i need some real help....and that involves medication (According to the doctors...)
i remember a few of us had a conversation about meds months earlier, i was just saying how terrified i am of taking them due to side effects and or weight gain (and the possibility of going even crazier). they want to put me on an SSRI (Zoloft) and ive been refusing to take it because, well, i've heard things!! i've been trying cognitive behavorial therapy, but it's kind of hard to concentrate when the depression is taking over so much (and i have something called depersonalization, which is basically just forgetting who i am--creepy.)
the whole point of this post i guess is if people can tell/share stories if they've had any bad side effects on SSRIs, or success with them or whatever....and also has anybody heard of Clarocet NRI? it's a natural reuptake inhibitor--an herbal remedy which apparently helps with depression/anxiety without side effects. the website is Clarocet.com....has anybody heard of this? when i brought it up at the hospital, of course everybody laughed and said it wouldnt work, but in my opinion they're just slaves to the drug companies....sadly, it seems like i need much more than therapy to "snap out of" my depression/anxiety, which is disapointing because i thought i could do it myself, i'm still waiting for it to go away on it's own, but it seems to be getting worse every day....sorry for rambling! i am just very terrified... any thoughts? thanks guys...
