Hey,
My personal opinion is to try the therapy first, and if that doesn't work, do the medication as a last resort.
My situation is a little different, but I side against medication unless it's absolutely needed. My mother is clinically depressed, and she was on meds for so many years, that a few years ago she became immune to it or whatever... so ever since then it's been basically a trial & error process trying to find meds or combinations of meds and it hasn't gone well.
