I wholeheartedly agree with Catt (btw, Catt - great answer!)

There is talk of a predisposition to ED's but the jury is still out on that and no one has definitive studies to prove one way or another. I personally firmly believe there is, like Catt said, a host of things that contribute to one being susceptible to an ED. One being your genetics and chemical balances within your body and brain. Another is your home and surrounding environment. I found out from my mother after my grandmother had passed away that she was always eating these "diet candies" which is what women used to do in the early 1900's (they were extremely popular in the 1920'3 and 1930's). She was always tall and thin and when she was around people, seemed to eat like a bird. That's how everyone described her. Did she have an ED? Don't know for sure but I strongly suspect she had some form of an ED and genetically I'm part of her so....

I also agree that your Mom just might have some guilt which is why she can't seem to address and help you with your situation. Continue to talk to your gran. I think that's best for you at the moment. Your Mom may come around. I wish you the best.
