Subject: OVER HERE!! Life Of Shaz - Chapter 1 = The Phone Call

=+= I thought about making the title 'The Call' but that reminded me of that Backstreet Boys song...Any mistakes, forgive me, and kill me later xD Enjoy!=+=

INT. Shaz's House, Party

Salty: And so then I said, 'Well maybe its up your butt?'
*They all laugh, then all look at Shaz who is now walking away*
Elaine: So who do you think that was, Monty?
Salty: Elaine! Behave!
Elaine: What? She's gone into her room, and besides, I know you want to know
Kaz: I bet it was P-Diddy
Elaine & Salty: P-Diddy?
Salty: Who's he?
Elaine: And why have we never heard of him?
Kaz: Well, it all started when..
*All through this CC is looking around, then at Dushy, then looking away, then at Dushy again*

*As we move away from that lot and go to follow where Shaz went, we briefly see the mob on the sofa and chairs in front of the TV watching the footy. Only Greg, Dulla, Marvyn and Geetha are really cheering. Dushy and Ash's GF look kinda left out, and Ash is not there. Cut to Shaz in her room. The next scene does not cut to P-Diddy, and we only hear his voice.*

*Shaz seems to stare at her mobile, then hits redial, use this number, whatever*
P-Diddy: Hello?
Shaz: Hello, who is this?
P-Diddy: Oh, hey there! It's um...it's just me.
Shaz: *thinks about it for a moment* Oh my...oh my god! P-Diddy!
P-Diddy: That's the one
*At this point we hear the toilet flush as we exit into the hallway and see Ash come out of the bathroom, who stops as he hears Shaz talking*
Shaz: I haven't seen you in so long! How did you get my number?
P-Diddy: Well, you know, Jess.
*Ash is intrigued, seems to have no qualms about eavesdropping at all, and does so*
Shaz: Aw, that's so sweet. So where are you? What have you been up to? Tell me everything!
P-Diddy: Well I'm doing some serious Law and Business double degree work here in Perth, but I'm doing some modelling on the side, you know, for extra cash.
Shaz: Modelling, that's great! How's that working for you?
*The camera changes from Shaz looking really happy to Ash looking really worried, and then frowning at the word 'Modelling' from Shaz*
P-Diddy: Well, actually, I'm doing some work in Darwin next week, which is why I called. A chance to catch up and stuff, you know?
Shaz: Really! That's so cool! Well of course we'll do stuff, we Seriously need to meet and chat, my parents will be gone next weekend for a month too, so you could crash here if you have no where else?
P-Diddy: That sounds cool. Hey, I need to go, but I'll call you tomorrow night, yeah?
Shaz: Okay, hope to hear from you then. Byee.
*Ash backs away from the door, leans against the wall incase Shaz comes out (door opens out into the hallway), but she doesn't. We see half the screen is Alvin leaning and listening, and Shaz standing and talking and thinking*
Shaz: *talking to herself* My old boyfriend from when I lived in Perth years ago, coming to Darwin to meet me. What will happen, and how is this going to affect me? I used to have such strong feelings for him, will all that have changed?
*She seems to think, as Ash walks out of frame*

Dushy: So, how's things with Ash?
Ash's GF: Oh, same old same old. How's things with you and...
Dushy: *smiles* Jennifer? Well, we're calling it quits for a little while. Taking a break, you know?
Ash's GF: Oh, I'm sorry to hear that.
Dushy: Nah, for the best I reckon. After the thing with Shaz, and me being there for her, I think Jen and I needed some space apart.
Ash's GF: They say absense makes the heart grow fonder
Dushy: *doesn't look convinced, but smiles anyway* Hey, you want a drink? Come to the bar, I'll show you how I make my secret weapon cocktail.
Ash's GF: Well, Ash still hasn't come back, and this sport is boring me to hell. *grins* why not?

*As they get up and walk away, Dusan with his hand on her back!!, we move to see the sports fans on the couch*
Greg: Yes! Yes, Run!
Dulla: No, you moron! Catch him!
Marvyn: He's breaking past the 20 meter mark!
Geetha: How could you miss tackling an idiot like that!
*More yelling as the try/goal/whatever is made on the TV, accompanied by a referee whistle, meaning a score was made*
Greg: That was totally awesome! *high fives Marvyn*
Dulla: More like totally bullcrap.
Marvyn: We can't help it if your team sucks
Geetha: He made an illegal move, that goal shouldn't be allowed.
Cars: *comes back with drinks for Geetha and Greg* Who scored? Who's winning?

*As they tell Cars about it, Salty, Elaine, Kaz and CC are sitting elsewhere*
Kaz: So that's when Shaz decided that maybe P-Diddy wasn't a real thing, but she's still unsure.
Elaine: Well it was ages ago, they were like eating paste together when this happened
Salty: Elaine! Behave! So you think that phone call really was him?
Kaz: *leans in* Well, I heard from her the other day that her friend Jess in Perth was asking her about P-Diddy the other day, asking if Shaz remembered him and still felt anything for him.
CC: And then she asked Shaz if she was seeing anyone.
Kaz: And then she asked Shaz what she would do if P-Diddy walked back into her life.
*The girls all lean back with understanding, making understanding noises*
Salty: I wonder what he's calling about?
Elaine: Booty call?
Salty: Elaine!

*Ash walks out and spots Dusan and Ash's GF at the bar, which is actually just the kitchen bench*
Dushy: And then we add a pinch of lime juice, and voila! *holds up a glass of something, rimmed with tabasco sauce* The Dushy Secret Weapon
Ash's GF: *takes the glass, raises it in a toast, then takes a swig* Hmmmm, that is heaven!
Dushy: *leans forward* Wait until you see my other secret weapon...in the bedroom
*he winks and Ash's GF giggles just as Ash comes up, putting his arm around Ash's GF*
Ash: Hey guys, wassap?
Dushy: Well finally you come back from the dunny, I was beginning to think you fell in
Ash's GF: *giggles again* Oh honey, you have to try one of these, they're so delicious, almost as good as sex.
Ash: I think I prefer sex more *takes the glass from her and puts it on the bench*
Ash's GF: Oh yeah?
*Dushy makes a gagging noise as they start making out, then retreats back towards the TV when he runs into Shaz coming back out, who looks dazed*

Shaz: Oh, I'm sorry!
Dushy: Hey, you okay?
Shaz: Yeah, yeah! I'm fine, just had an...interesting phone call. *A look from Dushy* Just an old friend, who'll be in town next week, wants to catch up.
Dushy: Ooh, that'll be good for you, with holidays and all. Get you out of the house and away from the olds.
Shaz: *smiles* Yeah, so, is the food ready or what?
Dushy: Right this way, your highness.
Shaz: *elbows him* Good work, peon. *calls out to everyone* Cmon everyone, foods up, the bar is full, and we have a party goin on here!
*Everyone gathers around to eat, play pushing one another, mucking around, and just generally having fun*
